Itinerari (V.O)

Egypt

ITINERARY 1 : NORTH :
THISTLEGORM + RAS MOHAMED NATIONAL PARK | HRG or Safaga
On this cruise, you get the best of both worlds: dives on the Red Sea's most famous wrecks and dazzling reefs teeming with life.

ITINERARY 2 : NORTH & BROTHERS :
Safaga or Port Ghalib
This cruise is a combination of the best dives of the North with the sites of the Brothers islands, the latter being probably the most famous in the Red Sea. Suitable for AOW + min. 50 logged dives.

ITINERARY 3 : NORTH & TIRAN :
HRG or Safaga
Throughout the cruise you will have many opportunities to see the reef inhabitants such as napoleons, turtles, clown fish, flying scorpion fish, different types of rays, impossible to mention them all. And with a bit of luck, you might even see dolphins! In the Straits of Tiran, the currents carry a lot of nutrients which attract fish and larger predators such as jacks, tuna, barracuda and even sharks. Sometimes you can even see manta rays.

ITINERARY 4 : SIMPLY THE BEST (B.D.E) :
Safaga or Marsa Alam. This route is considered by many as the best diving in the Red Sea. Accessible to experienced divers only, this cruise takes you to the legendary sites of the Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone. You will dive on these steep drop offs teeming with sea fans, hard and soft corals and will encounter pelagic fauna.

ITINERARY 5 : DAEDALUS, SATTAYA, ELPHINSTONE :
Port Ghalib - Port Ghalib. We could call this cruise "Sharks and Dolphins": sharks are often seen on Daedalus and Elphinstone, two legendary Red Sea reefs. Dolphins can be seen in the Sattaya lagoon. Not forgetting the different types of rays, napoleons, groupers, turtles, nudibranchs and all the other reef inhabitants that can be seen on the drop offs and beautiful coral gardens on this cruise.

ITINERARY 6 : FURY SHOAL :
Marsa Alam or Hamata. Fury Shoal is an immense chain of coral reefs all more colored than the others. You can in turn explore caves, tunnels, coral gardens and even drop offs. This cruise is open to all and allows you to dive on enchanting and varied sites. Most sites are also snorkeler-friendly.

ITINERARY 7 : SAINT JOHN'S :
Marsa Alam or Hamata. Well beyond the reefs of St. John's, this cruise will take you to the Deep South on sites along the Sudanese border. Because of its isolation, few liveaboards visit them and you will have the opportunity to dive into a veritable Garden of Eden. open to all divers with a minimum of 30 logged dives.

ITINERARY 8 : TIRAN DAHAB :
Head up the Gulf of Aqaba and dive the Blue Hole and Canyon, Dahab's world famous topography. Then discover the magnificent sites of the Straits of Tiran such as Jackson, Thomas, Gordon and Woodhouse Reef. Finally, the Ras Mohamed Reserve offers breathtaking dives with its dizzying drop offs and abundant wildlife. An original and off the beaten track itinerary that will delight all divers.

Sudan

SOUDAN MYTHIQUE | Port Sudan - Port Sudan
A course that brings together the sites that have made Sudan famous. You will dive on plateaus and drop offs teeming with life in search of hammerheads, grey sharks, silky sharks and other pelagic species, not forgetting humpback parrots, turtles and all the species living on the reef.

GRAND SUD | Port Sudan - Port Sudan
Dive off the beaten track to untouched and uncrowded reefs. You'll look for schools of hammerheads, grey and silky sharks, large schools of barracuda and jacks and the impressive humpback parrotfish. This route can be 10, 11 or 14 nights.

NORD À SUAKIN | Port Sudan - Port Sudan

Best time for diving
January to May & September to October, liveaboards operate all year round in Sudan. Hammerhead season peaks from January through April when the sea is at its coolest, while August to October might be the best time for you who want to see mantas. Visibility ranges from 20 meters during the rainy season from May to October to beyond 35 meters during the dry season from November through June.

About temperatures
Air : Sudan experiences mean annual temperatures between 26°C and 32°C, with summer temperatures in the north often exceeding 43°C. Rainfall in Sudan is unreliable and erratic, with great variation experienced between northern and southern regions.
Sea : winter months are between 23°C - 26°C, summer months are between 29°C - 32°C.

Wetsuit Recommendation
In the winter months, a 3 - 5 mm full wetsuit is recommended. In summer months a rash vest or 3 mm shorty wetsuit is recommended.

Diver requirement
Intermediate to Advanced, the Sudanese government requires divers to have logged 50 dives before diving in the country, and AOW certification is a good idea as currents in this region can be strong and some points of interest, such as wrecks and schools of hammerheads, can be deep.
You can find out more information about diving in Sudan here : Africa & Middle East.

Embarkation / Disembarkation
Liveaboards diving in Sudan typically sails from an Egyptian port - Hurghada (HRG), Marsa Alam (RMF), clearing customs at Port Sudan before diving within Sudanese waters begins.

Visa Requirements
Guests need two Egyptian Visa entries, one upon your arrival at the Airport, and the other one upon your arrival back from the Sudan trip. The first Egyptian entry visa you can get on arrival at the International airport. The second one will be arranged & paid onboard. For the Sudan entry Visa, most of the liveaboards will organize for you in advance before arrival to Port Sudan and will be issued & stamped on your passport upon our arrival to Port Sudan.

Vaccinations
The CDC and WHO recommend the following vaccinations for Sudan: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, yellow fever, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia, and influenza.

Money Matters
The local currency is the Sudanese pound (SDG). However, since Sudan liveaboard trips start and end in Egypt, you will not need any SDG. The only chance you’ll touch Sudan land is when you decide to visit the lighthouse of Sanganeb reef.

Drones
Drone operations are not regulated in Sudan. Please refer to Drone Laws in Sudan for more details.

Extending your holiday
We offer a range of hotels/resorts, land-based diving packages, and excursions that can be arranged before or after your liveaboard holiday. Just ask us if you need such a service.
