LA Turks & Caicos Explorer II e' una barca per crociere sub lunga ben 38 metri (124ft) che offre spazio e comodita' ai suoi ospiti, grazie a due motori gemelli diesel puo' navigare a 14 nodi ed ha la corrente a 110 volt.

La Turks & Caicos Explorer II puo' ospitare un massimo di 20 subacquei in comfort e privacy.

Il ponte principale ha un salone con aria condizionata, TV e lettore DVD, uno stereo, vasto assortimento di film, musica e libri. La cucina e' vicina al salone.

Il ponte superiore e' parzialmente coperto ed ha panche e sedie dove riposarsi, per coloro che invece vogliono godersi il sole dei Caraibi c'e' un fly bridge con delle comodissime sdraie e una griglia per cucinare degli ottimi barbecue.

Il ponte diving e' spazioso e ben equipaggiato con gavoni dove riporre l'attrezzatura e i compressori per la ricarica delle bombole. Si trova anche un tavolo dedicato alle attrezzature foto e video con una frusta ad aria compressa e delle vasche risciacquo.

A poppa si trova una comoda piattaforma per l'ingresso in acqua, 2 scale per la risalita e docce con acqua dolce.

Tutte le cabine hanno bagno privato con doccia calda, armadio ed aria condizionata.

• Cabine (no 3, 4) : letti singoli, tavolo, sedia, TV/DVD e finestra.

Ponte inferiore :

• Cabine (no 8, 9, 10): letti a castello e oblo'.

Immersioni

• 5 immersioni al giorno (2 immersioni l'ultimo giorno) inclusa una notturna.

• Le immersioni incominciano la domenica e finiscono il venerdi' prima di pranzo.

The Turks & Caicos Islands

regular itineraries run from Saturday to Saturday, and depart from and return to the Caicos Marina and Shipyard, Providenciales (Provo). We also offer special Grand Turks itineraries (diving Grand Turk, South Caicos, French Cay and/or Salt Cay) on a full charter basis; contact us for details.

The majority of dives aboard our vessels are offered at scheduled times, up to 5 times daily. This is to allow adequate surface intervals provides the option for guided dives on as many sites as possible, and allows the vessel to travel on a schedule to different locations.

Days aboard Turks & Caicos Explorer II generally involve breakfast from 7 am to 8 am (cold breakfasts are available for late risers), followed by two morning dives, lunch at 12:30 pm, two afternoon dives, dinner at 6:30 pm, and a night dive. Island shore excursions will be arranged when possible for those interested.

Water temperatures range from a low of about 72 degrees F in winter to a high of about 82 degrees F in summer. There is normally little appreciable current at the sites we visit, and visibility is generally between 75 and 150 feet. Most divers are comfortable with a 3 mm wetsuit in summer and a 5 mm wetsuit with hooded vest in winter.

Please note also that this itinerary is an example only, and will change depending on weather and logistics at the Captain's discretion.

Regular Itinerary

Saturday: Though transfers are not included in the package, you will be met at the airport by a local driver who will be aware of the boat’s location. Due to tides, weather conditions and her size, the vessel’s weekend location and schedule is tide-dependent, and she may be located either in Caicos Marina or anchored offshore.

Cab fares can vary but generally are up to $45 each way for up to 2 people, and up to $25 for each additional person. This can also vary depending on the time of day. If you arrive on an early flight, you’ll be given the option to stay at the airport restaurant to relax or to go to the shopping/restaurant area called Salt Mills (this is a few dollars more than a direct taxi ride to the vessel). In either case, the driver will deliver you to the vessel around the 3 pm boarding time.

Sunday: Provo's Northwest Point. Four to five dives, with night spent at mooring.

Monday: Two morning dives at Northwest Point, followed by 2-hour trip to West Caicos. Three dives, with night spent at mooring.

Tuesday: Up to five dives at West Caicos, with night spent at mooring.

Wednesday: Two dives at West Caicos, transit to French Cay, three dives at French Cay, with night spent at mooring.

Thursday: Five dives at French Cay, with night spent at mooring.

Friday: Dawn dive and morning dive at French Cay, with departure for the 2-hour trip back to port. Afternoon at leisure; dinner ashore, with night spent aboard vessel.

Saturday: 7AM to 8:30AM Continental breakfast, 9AM Depart the Turks & Caicos Explorer II. Due to the necessity of readying the vessel for our next cruise, we must strictly enforce the 9 am departure.

Should you be leaving on an afternoon flight, you may leave your luggage aboard for pickup later. However, cabs are very expensive and it can be costly to return to the vessel.

Silver Bank - Dominican Republic

In January of each year, the Turks & Caicos Explorer II follows the migrating humpback whales to the south, and spends the following 11 weeks on the Silver Banks, 80 miles to the north of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

These special itineraries, run by world-renowned Tom Conlin of Aquatic Adventures, offer up to 18 lucky guests the opportunity to spend a week both topside and in the water (snorkel only), experiencing the majesty of these incredible creatures up close and personal.
