Itinerari (V.O)

Dewi Nusantara is renowned for operating in some of the most diverse and exciting dive destinations on the planet. With more species of coral and marine life than anywhere else on earth, the seas of the Indonesian archipelago lead the world when it comes to marine life bio-diversity and our itineraries visit two of the country’s most spectacular areas.

Site selection depends on many variables such as weather and sea conditions but also on you – tell us what you would like to see and do and we will do our very best to accommodate your wishes.

Depending on your trip itinerary you will be visiting either Ambon, Alor, Banda Sea, Cenderawasih Bay, Triton Bay, Forgotten Islands, Halmahera or Raja Ampat in Papua. You will be making up to four dives a day in some of the most sought after dive destinations on the planet.

Raja Ampat

Raja Ampat is Dewi Nusantara’s home for the majority of the operating year. Dewi Nusantara's trip Starting and ending in Sorong, our 11-night cruises offer nine and a half days of spectacular and varied diving with between two and four dives per day with many fascinating land excursions along the way.

Cenderawasih Bay

Other than on Manokwari’s excellent WWII wrecks, most of the diving is within Cenderawasih Bay National Park, Indonesia’s largest park. This park is huge, half again larger than Raja Ampat; even a 14-day dive trip barely scratches the “surface” of this underwater wilderness. Dewi Nusantara's trip Starting and ending at Manokwari, the 13-night Cenderawasih Bay cruises over comes with between two and four dives per day and many fascinating land excursions along the way.

Banda Sea & The Forgotten Islands

While big fish and pelagics are the usual suspects in the Banda Islands, its true treasure is in the large variety and sheer volume of fish life, for both large and small marine life.

Some of the creatures worthy of special attention, because they characterize the diving in the Banda Sea are the dogtooth tuna and mobula rays. You’ll see large schools of fusiliers and thousands of red tooth triggerfish at many of the dive sites. There are prolific mandarin fish and the native Ambon scorpionfish at the other end of the size scale. Our cruises will dive between two and four dives per day and many fascinating land excursions along the way.

Ambon & Alor

Ambon and Alor are two destinations with each some of their own unique diving opportunities. Ambon, or to be precise Ambon Bay, offers some of the most spectacular muck or critter diving you can find.

Alor is a destination that can be nicely combined with Ambon on one of our Banda Sea crossings or the ending of a cruise through the Forgotten Islands. Alor is Clown Valley, with one of the highest concentration of anemones in the world. Situated on a slope filled with boulders the anemones are everywhere, in all colours and shapes, and so are the Clown Fish. The water here can be cold – Mola Mola’s (Sunfish) have been spotted at Clown Valley!

Dolphins and pilot whales are regularly seen from Dewi Nusantara or our dive tenders. The straits between Alor and the islands to the west towards Solor are tidal, with large masses of water being pushed through them each day.

Alor offers fantastic opportunities to hunt for great macro photos all the way to whale watching at sunset.

DIVE INSTRUCTION : With the exception of Enriched Air Diver courses Dewi Nusantara typically does not offer onboard diving instruction. Should you wish to inquire about dive courses please contact us.

Embarkation and Disembarkation times : Official embarkation time is 4 pm. If you arrive on an early flight, the Dewi team will meet at the airport and take you to a hotel for breakfast and coffee. We usually try to start boarding from 12 noon. Once all guests are on board, we will depart.

Dewi Nusantara typically returns to port in the afternoon or evening the day before disembarkation at the end of the cruise. Final disembarkation will occur between 6:00 am and 10 am.

I just completed the Komodo trip, with the Dewi. Dive master Andrea was my Buddy. I was trying my best to stay for another trip didn't want to leave. We celebrated my 75th year, and 100th dive width the WONDERFUL CREW. ANDREA and the crew helped me out when my deflater botton broke and the bcd was empty. They provided spare bcd, as mine couldn't repaired. My computer got out of gage mode (my fault) they had a spare that I could so I only missed one dive. I'll keep coming back Andrea and her great Crew are the best.
